.End of an Era.
I was hired as a cashier, simply needing a job - any job that would pay the bills. This job did. Barely. I started at store #427 in West Henrietta, NY. It took me awhile to love the job, but not too long to love the people. This store was full of great people and I'm still convinced we had the best crew in the company! :)
I have since moved and transferred, having worked at five different stores at one point or another. DSG in Minnesota has some great people just like NY, but it also has some crazies.
Through the years I have been cashier, Supervisor, Apparel Lead, Receiving associate, Key carrying lead and back to part-time. I know a little about a lot in this company. I've trained my fair share of associates, managers, store managers and even regional managers.
I left right during back-to-school and walked out without looking back. The holidays are coming and this year I will enjoy them. I'm not sorry that I won't have to work another Black Friday, or ever put on one of those hideous green polos and a pair of beat up khakis... the discount, however, will be sorely missed.
I have some friendships that will last a lifetime from DSG - there are some people that I will not miss at all - and those that I should keep in contact with - but don't.
I'm really looking forward to moving on with life... as well as the extra room I will now have in my closet!
